So I started fencing: First time I tried to fence, I was 4 years old. It was in my yard for a summer party. Malte, our first fencing coach, had brought the equipment to farm children. Fleuretten I could just wear the jacket and went right down to the ankles. Wearing blue rubber boots, I went to war with the farm children. But it was only later I started to fencing.
Later Emil started from my yard with that fence. Emily and I were good friends and one day I went with him to the training, at the time I was 8 years old. I thought it was really fun and got my first lesson there. Malte subsequently wrote a letter to me that he thought I was good and therefore should start on Monday in DGI town, so I started the course.
