Treasurer, member of the board
We are looking for a treasurer with strong IT skills and a passion for financial management
Fencing Club Trekanten, Denmark’s largest and oldest fencing club, is seeking an engaged and structured treasurer to join our dynamic and experienced board. We are an organisation with a professional approach and an annual turnover of more than 4 million DKK. The treasurer role is a key position in our structure, where you will work closely with both the executive committee and our external bookkeeper.
About the role
As treasurer, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a clear overview of the club’s finances, chart of accounts, and budgets — you are the “king/queen of the chart of accounts.”
- Being confident in preparing budgets and presenting quarterly financial statements and budget follow-ups to the board.
- Reviewing and presenting the annual financial statements to our internal auditors as well as at the general assembly.
- Working closely with our external bookkeeper, who handles the daily bookkeeping.
- Using modern systems and tools for time tracking, payroll, reimbursements, expense handling, and accounting.
- Identifying opportunities for optimisation and pointing out any inefficiencies in processes and workflows.
The role requires approximately 4 hours of commitment per week and offers both responsibility and the freedom to shape and develop our financial procedures.
We imagine that you
- Have access to a computer and are used to working with it.
- Are comfortable with IT, thrive within clear frameworks, and work methodically and in a structured way.
- Are proficient in Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets) and confident in Excel.
- Can navigate digital systems and are not afraid to learn new tools.
- See the value of modern, digital workflows and have a desire to develop our financial and administrative structure.
- Are collaborative and able to work constructively with both the board and our bookkeeper.
What we offer
As a member of the board, you become part of an engaged and forward-thinking group working to operate and develop Denmark’s leading fencing club. The position is voluntary, but it offers significant influence, valuable experience, and the opportunity to shape the club’s direction through professional financial management.
