Alternate (member of the board)
Would you like to contribute to the development of Fægteklubben Trekanten, but perhaps are not quite ready to take on a full board position from the outset? Then the role of alternate board member may be a great opportunity. We are looking for engaged individuals who would like to be closely involved in the work of the board and be ready to step in if needed.
About the role of alternate board member:
As an alternate board member, you are not an ordinary member of the board, but you play an important role in ensuring the continuity and stability of the association. We therefore encourage alternate board members to attend board meetings whenever possible. It is important that alternates maintain ongoing insight into the work of the board so that they can step in at short notice in cases of conflict of interest, prolonged absence, or resignation among the ordinary board members.
It is therefore expected that, as an alternate board member, you are willing and able to take over the role of a board member should the situation arise. The role is therefore not merely observational, but also an important part of the board’s overall preparedness and working community.
Insight and participation:
As an alternate board member, you gain valuable insight into the work of the board and the opportunity to contribute with perspectives, sparring, and practical support. You may take part in discussions and be an active part of the collaboration, but you do not have voting rights unless you formally join the board in place of an ordinary member.
Expectations:
We place importance on alternate board members being interested in the club’s development and willing to engage in the work of the board. This includes, among other things, keeping up with the board’s work as far as possible, attending meetings when you can, and being ready to take responsibility if you are asked to step in.
We also expect you to be willing to familiarise yourself with new IT systems and digital ways of working. Experience with Google Workspace is an advantage, as it is one of the association’s primary working tools in day-to-day board work.
Who are we looking for?
- You have an interest in voluntary association work and would like to contribute to the club’s development.
- You are willing to attend board meetings whenever possible.
- You are ready to take over a board position if the need arises.
- You are able to work constructively with others and take responsibility.
- You are comfortable with digital working tools or willing to learn them.
- You preferably have some knowledge of fencing, although this is not a requirement.
What we offer:
- Valuable insight into board work in an ambitious and growing association.
- The opportunity to contribute to the club’s development and gain experience in association leadership.
- Close collaboration with committed volunteers and board members.
- A good introduction to board work for those who would like to learn more about the role.
- Flexibility, including the possibility of participating in meetings online when relevant.
If you would like to stand as an alternate board member and be part of an inspiring association, we encourage you to submit your candidacy before the deadline.
We look forward to hearing from you and perhaps welcoming you as an alternate board member in Fægteklubben Trekanten.
Fægteklubben Trekanten encourages all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of age (minimum 18 years), gender, race, religion, or disability.
